Swachh Bharath Mission
Where there is a health there is a hygiene so health and hygiene are like two sides of a coin. If there is a lack of hygiene health problems appear. 80 of health problems are found due to lack of awareness about hygiene. So govt has launched the Total Sanitation Campaign (T.S.C) from 02.10.2005 in all grama panchayaths of Karnataka state.The entire sanitation facility was designed to accommodate the construction of a personal toilet, school toilet, Anganwadi toilet and community toilet.
From 01.04.2012 TSC came to be known as NBA (Nirmal Bharath Abhiyan). NBA included solid liquid waste management with TSC components. According to baseline servey-2012 total 72239 toiletless families were found in all gp of chikkamagaluru District. Under this scheme Rs 4700 and under mgnrega Rs 5400/- fund is distributed for BPL families and also For restricted APL families. Under this scheme toilet facilities were provided to all toilet less govt schools and anganavadi centers. From 02.10.2014 NBA was launched in the name of Swachh Bharath Mission (SBM)
Beneficiary who have built toilets under SBM will able to pay Rs 12000/- for general category and 15000/- Rs for sc/st beneficiary.
Lob option is also given in 2018 for the Beneficiary who have left in 2012 baseline survey. In the month of june-16 sringeri, koppa, n.r.pura, mudigere and part of chikkamagalur Taluk were declared as odf taluks. From Jan-20.2016 payments under SBM is under Efms system.
All programme under SBM scheme have been uploaded in IMIS.
1.80.000/- fund available for community toilet construction in Grama pamchayats community toilet can be contracted where there is no place for IHHL, people gathering place like Busstand, Community Hall, Religion place etc…
20 lakh fund available for solid waste management in grama panchayat as a Capital cost for each grama panchayat.
