1.Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Student Hostels: –

Pre-matric students admitted and studying in hostels managed by the Backward Classes Welfare Department will be provided with free meals, accommodation, bed-mattress-pillow, bedsheet, blanket, plate-pot, UPS, solar water heater, library, daily newspaper, monthly newspaper, magazines, writing books, stationery, uniform, cleanliness kit, special teaching system as per the menu chart at a cost of Rs. 1750/- and post-matric students at a cost of Rs. 1850/-.

2. Pre-Matric Scholarship:-

Annual Pre-Matric Scholarship will be granted to eligible Backward Classes students studying in Government/Private/Unaided/Associated stream from Class 1 to Class 10.

3. Post-Matric Scholarship: –
Post-Matric scholarship will be granted to eligible post-matric backward class students studying in PUC, Degree, Professional Degree, Post-Matric, Post-Professional Degree, etc. in Government/Private/Unaided/Associated Educational Institutions for the educational promotion of students belonging to Backward Classes.

4. Incentives for hostel students:-
The following incentives will be given to students studying in hostels belonging to backward classes and who pass the public examinations with first class in the first attempt.

5. Fee Exemption:-
With a view to helping students from backward classes to get higher education, the government has deposited the tuition fees, laboratory fees, examination fees, sports fees, library fees fixed by the government colleges in the account of the principal of the concerned college.

6. D. Devaraja Arasu Pratibha Puraskar for Backward Classes:-
Backward classes who have scored more than 90% marks in SSLC, PUC and more than 70% marks in graduation and post-graduation degrees are in the top ranks. With a view to providing encouragement to education, the “D. Devaraja Arasu Pratibha Puraskar” scheme has been launched.

7. Fellowship for Backward Classes Students pursuing full-time Ph.D.:-
Eligible candidates from Backward Classes pursuing full-time Ph.D. are being provided with a monthly scholarship/fellowship of Rs.10,000/- for 3 years to enable them to engage in higher education/research.

8. D. Devaraja Arasu Foreign Study Scholarship:-
Students from Backward Classes pursuing Postgraduate Degree and Ph.D./research in foreign universities will be provided with a maximum grant of Rs.30.00 lakhs per annum for 3 years.

9. Pre-exam training for competitive examinations for candidates belonging to backward classes:-
Pre-exam training for IAS, KAS and Bank Probationary Officers examinations is being provided to eligible candidates belonging to backward classes through reputed private training institutes in Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and training allowance and training fee will be provided by the department.

10. Apprenticeship for law graduates:-
Eligible unemployed candidates belonging to backward classes who have obtained a law degree are being trained in the profession of lawyer. Apprenticeship of Rs.4000/- per month for 4 years will be sanctioned to 10 candidates in the district every year.

With regard to the transfer of Group D employees in the Backward Classes Welfare Department for the year 2022-23, the Seniority List has been incorporated and filed an objection(2 MB)
